Finland - Transposition of the EU Directive on Whistleblowing
The Finnish Ministry of Justice has set up a national working group on the transposition of the Whistleblower Directive. The working group held its first meeting on the 4th of March, 2020. The working group will assess whether it is necessary to draft a new law or make amendments to existing law. The working group is also assessing if the national scope should be broader than the minimum level in the Directive and which authority should be the right one to receive reports. The term of office of the working groups shall be until the end of March 2021.
The sub-working group, chaired by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, is preparing draft legislation on labour law and employment.
