“The new PBO (Parliamentary Budget Officer) analysis, conducted for a member of Parliament and released Wednesday, comes after the Conservative government promised in the last election campaign to introduce an adult fitness tax credit of up to $500 to cover the cost of registration fees for physical activities — but only once the federal budget is balanced, which is expected in the 2015-16 fiscal year.”

“The Government recognizes that Canadians of all ages are interested in increasing their physical fitness. To this end, the Government intends to establish an expert panel to study the potential scope of an Adult Fitness Tax Credit, to support Canadians in making healthy choices. This panel’s work will inform further Government action in this area.”
