We note that the promise of creating the position of a mental health advocate for New Brunswick is in the process of being fulfilled. The budget has been allocated. We will consider this promise fully kept upon the official announcement of the person who will occupy this position.
“The Liberals have promised $4.7 million in annual new spending for several mental health initiatives, including doubling residencies for clinical psychologists, getting more mental health professionals into schools, and creating a mental health advocate’s office”.
N.B. gets another failing grade on mental health services

This promise can be found in the mandate letter addressed to the Minister of Justice and Minister responsible for Mental Health Services and Addiction Treatment, Robert K. McKee. Mandate letters define ministerial objectives. Therefore, this promise remains an ongoing priority, and we will monitor its implementation.
