The 2022 Quebec general election held on October 3, 2022 resulted in a second decisive victory for the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ), led by François Legault. The CAQ won 90 of the 125 seats in the National Assembly, 16 more than in 2018, with 40.98% of the popular vote.

2.06.01 - “A re-elected CAQ government] will provide $100 million to community organizations for the creation of 500 respite spaces to help families living with a child with a disability […] This new investment of $100 million to create 500 new respite spaces will help these families in concrete ways. […] [These] respite spaces [will] be able to accommodate for a few hours or a few days children, both minors and adults, who are living with a disability or an autism spectrum disorder[.]”

« Présentement, ce n’est pas récurrent, le financement diminue aussi. Le répit est souvent financé par projet et non selon la mission. Le financement va durer un an, deux ans et ensuite va tomber. Les organismes ne peuvent pas se concentrer complètement sur les services offerts, explique-t-elle. »
